Lexi suffers anaphylaxis from approximately 50 hornet stings, resulting in respiratory distress requiring emergency cricothyrotomy. She briefly goes into cardiac arrest requiring CPR and epinephrine.

During workup for hornet sting anaphylaxis, CT scan incidentally discovers a brain cyst requiring emergency surgical removal. The hornet incident inadvertently saves her life by leading to the discovery.

Jabo presents with syncope while giving himself a tattoo. His hemoglobin is critically low at 5.8, requiring blood transfusion. The anemia is later determined to be caused by chronic arsenic poisoning.

Jabo's chronic arsenic poisoning from contaminated well water near a coal-ash pit is discovered to be the cause of his anemia and pulmonary embolism. His late wife also died from lung cancer likely caused by the same exposure.

During blood transfusion, Jabo develops acute pulmonary embolism causing right heart strain and hemodynamic instability requiring emergency hybrid suite intervention to remove the clot. Later linked to his arsenic poisoning.
