She experiences severe psychological trauma from being conscious but paralyzed during the procedure, leading to trust issues and requiring a second surgery for incisional bleeding.

The condition is discovered during exploratory surgery when the patient becomes unstable and experiences massive bleeding into the chest. This is described as an extremely rare presentation that is almost impossible to diagnose preoperatively.
