A massive tumor growing inside the fetal heart's pericardial sac, nearly twice the size of the heart itself. The tumor requires emergency open fetal surgery to prevent cardiac failure before birth.

An intern presents with abdominal pain and is initially dismissed as having hypochondria (internitis), but is diagnosed with perforated abdominal tuberculosis requiring surgical intervention. His diagnosis creates infection control concerns in the OR.

Initially diagnosed condition before the discovery of tuberculosis. Cross presents with perforated diverticulitis requiring emergency surgery.
