Allan developed PTLD after his third kidney transplant, caused by weakened immune system triggering Epstein-Barr virus. He undergoes debulking surgery for retroperitoneal tumor, but develops renal artery thrombosis intraoperatively requiring nephrectomy.

Molly has grand mal seizures refractory to anti-epileptic medications. She undergoes experimental DBS (deep brain stimulation) placement with cortical grid stimulation in attempt to both control seizures and retrieve memories lost to retrograde amnesia.

Pregnant patient presenting with chest pressure and dyspnea initially concerning for cardiac issues, but found to have achalasia causing food impaction in esophagus (fish tacos, smoothie). Treated with esophageal disimpaction and Botox injection to lower esophageal sphincter.

Liz has preexisting mitral valve prolapse which prompts cardiac workup when she develops chest symptoms during pregnancy. Echo shows stable valve, symptoms ultimately attributed to achalasia.
