Henry contracted an amoebic infection by using tap water (instead of distilled water) in a neti pot for sinus irrigation, which his ex-girlfriend had introduced him to. The amoeba traveled through his cribriform plate to the fluids around his brain, causing meningitis, liver failure, and multiple systemic symptoms including bleeding from the eyes.
