10-year-old boy who compulsively eats non-food items including pillow stuffing, couch cushions, stuffed animals, books, potpourri, dirt, and lawn furniture. The condition started after his mother remarried and is linked to psychological trauma. His mother also has pica, which she hid from him. He requires gastric lavage after ingesting toxic lawn furniture chemicals.
