Raymond presents with syncope, chest pain, and difficulty climbing stairs. He is diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension caused by blood clots in the pulmonary arteries. Sam performs surgery to remove clots and insert a vascular umbrella, but Raymond suffers cardiac arrest and hemorrhage during the procedure. He ultimately requires a lung transplant, and Sam is tested as a potential living donor.
