Infant found abandoned with HIV-positive mother, presenting with fever, dehydration, and bacterial pneumonia. Treated with IV fluids and antibiotics while social services works on placement. An illegal HIV test was ordered without proper consent.

Mother with end-stage AIDS who abandoned her baby, presenting with fulminant pneumocystis pneumonia requiring ICU admission and aggressive treatment with Bactrim.
